To create the SmartShapes in your OpenLNS CT drawing, select
the Create all Network Variables Shapes check box.
3. Click Finish to add the functional block SmartShape to the OpenLNS CT drawing.
Using Automatic Device Selection
You can use automatic device selection to enable IzoT Commissioning Tool to automatically select the
appropriate device for a new functional block, skipping the Functional Block Wizard. This feature lets
you create a new functional block with a single click and drag. To enable automatic device selection
in your OpenLNS CT drawing, follow these steps:
1. In the OpenLNS CT drawing, click Add-ins, point to IzoT Commissioning Tool, and then select
IzoT Commissioning Tool Options. The Network Properties dialog box opens.
2. Select Functional Blocks from the Options Category list.
3. Select the Enable Automatic Device Selection check box.
4. Click OK.
The order of the criteria used by IzoT Commissioning Tool to select the appropriate device is as
follows: (1) closest qualified device SmartShape to the functional block SmartShape where the device
SmartShape is within 1 ½ times the width of the functional block SmartShape, and then (2) most
recently created or assigned device. If no device can be selected using the preceding criteria, the
Functional Block Wizard will appear.
Reassigning a Functional Block
You can move a functional block to a different device, preserving all of the functional block’s
configurations and connections. You can do this to assign a functional block to a device different than
the one that was automatically selected by IzoT Commissioning Tool, or to reassign any functional
block to a different compatible device. To move a functional block to a different device, you can
either right-click the functional block and use the Move FB command, or you can use the Connector
tool on the Visio Standard toolbar to graphically reassign the functional block.
