Configuration example for NTP broadcast mode with

authentication

Network requirements

As shown in

Figure 22

, Router C functions as the NTP server for multiple devices on different network

segments and synchronizes the time among multiple devices. Router B authenticates the reference source.

Router C’s local clock is to be used as a reference source, with the stratum level 3.

Router C operates in broadcast server mode and sends broadcast messages from Ethernet 1/1.

Router A and Router B operate in broadcast client mode and receive broadcast client through
Ethernet 1/1.

Configure NTP authentication on both Router B and Router C.
