Examples

Assigning operators to processes

The following example illustrates how to create and assign an operator as an SOM processor.
See for information about creating an operator.

1.

Log in to the SOM system as an administrator.

2.

From the left navigation pane, select Process Management >Network Maintenance

Process >VLAN Configuration Changes.

3.

Right-click on VLAN Configuration Changes, and select Config Process as shown in

Figure 21

.

4.

Click the user or group in the Users/Groups column, and specify the users or user groups as the

operator that has the right to submit or approve a request.

5.

Click OK.
Users selected for Change Apply can submit a request for changing VLAN configuration and users
selected for Change Audit can approve the request.
If you want to assign an existing IMC operator as an SOM processor, modify the IMC operator
configuration.

NOTE:

Do not assign user management rights to IMC operators that have no permission to directly apply
configurations to devices.

Filtering

Many items in the SOM navigation pane use the filter tool.
You can filter tasks in the following nodes:

My WorkSpace: My Task, My Created Processes, My Relate Processes, My Managed Processes.

CMDB Management: CI Management, CI Relation Management, Knowledge Base Management,

Question Bank Management.

System Management: user accounts, operation logs.

For example, to facilitate account query, you can use the filter tool at the top center window:

1.

In Service Desk, click the System Management node to expand it, and then double-click User
Account.
The User Account tab opens in the task pane.

2.

Click Filter.

3.

Configure the filters.
