6.18 VIDEOTEC receivers with VIDEOTEC / Macro protocol

6.18.1

Very important note

Depending on the model, VIDEOTEC receivers use the VIDEOTEC communication protocol, the Macro
protocol, or both.
This chapter describes all the available functions, irrespective of the receiver model. See the corresponding
handbooks for information on the limitations of individual receivers.

6.18.3

Configuring the receivers

The address, protocol and baud rate of each receiver should be configured as described in the respective user's
handbook.
If you use the Macro protocol, some parameters can be configured by inserting a special code (see § 6.1.5 -
Layout of the configuration menus, page 76
).
Refer to the corresponding section (see § 6.19 - Operating procedure for setting a dome/receiver, page 137).

6.18.3.1

Macro OSM

With the Macro protocol the receivers can also be configured via the OSM; in which case it is necessary to
enable the “Setup Telemetry” FUNCTION (see § 4.2.4.5 - Functions, page 35).
Go to the OSM configuration page (see § 6.1.5 - Layout of the configuration menus, page 76), where it is
possible to make the settings for the various parameters.

To enter the OSM for the receiver.

IRIS OPEN

6.18.4

Connecting the hardware

VIDEOTEC receivers can be connected directly to the keyboard using one of the telephone cables supplied
with the keyboard (for testing and control) or using the standard connection cable, which can reach distances
of up to 1200 m (see § 3.3 - One keyboard per line: standard connection cable, page 15).

6.18.5

Autoflip, Autopan, Aux, Focus, Iris, Washer/Wiper

All these functions can be loaded by pressing the specific keys in the control menu area of the Main menu (see
§ 4.4 – Control menu area, page 45
).

to check which functions are available for the communication protocol being used.

6.18.5.1

Aux

The display will always show SET, RESET and TOGGLE keys for 4 relays. Refer to the receiver
handbook for the actual number of available relays.
