7.4.1.3.1

General

With this card it is possible to set the
language used by the keyboard, the
communication lines, the buzzer and
display settings and also manage the
various passwords.

Language

Each of the 12 option buttons is associated with a different language (see § 4.2.2 - Language, page 22).
The keyboard will display the various messages consistent with the selected language. It should not be
confused with the language configuration programme, Keyboard Language described in § 7.4.2 -
Keyboard Language, page 145
.

Communications

In this section it is possible to make the settings for all the parameters related to the three RS485
communication lines available on the keyboard: the Video line and the Telemetry A and B lines.
Each parameter should be chosen from those suggested in the list that appears when you click on the
arrow of the corresponding combobox. In the illustration above, for example, you can see the list of
choices for the Telemetry B connector. Of course, the list may be longer or shorter, depending on the
parameter selected.

Some systems require the telemetry controls to be sent along the Video line instead of along the lines
dedicated to telemetry. This type of communication is only possible if you follow a number of
configuration rules for the type of protocol being used. For this purpose the Setup programme will not
allow certain types of configuration in order to prevent possible faults.

WARNING
If you are unable to select a parameter in one of the lists, you are probably trying to set up a
parameter combination that is not allowed by the system. Please read the following notes
carefully before asking for assistance.

Configurations that allow telemetry controls to be sent along the Video line
Keyboard-Video Matrixes
The keyboard is connected to the matrix via the Video line. Since the matrix is able so send telemetry
controls to the dome or to the telemetry receivers to which it is connected, the keyboard will have to send
the telemetry controls to the matrix via the Video line.
It will be the job of the matrix to address the controls in the correct format to the specific receiver.
To be able to make such a connection it is necessary to use the Video Macro protocol. However, since
the domes or telemetry receivers connected to the matrix may not use the Macro protocol (for example,
Pelco D etc.), the telemetry line of the keyboard must be configured just the same even if it will not be
connected.
