7 DESCRIPTION OF THE SOFTWARE
This chapter describes all the functions and potential of the software package supplied with the keyboard.
7.1 Terminology
For better understanding of the terminology used later on, refer to the illustration below.
7.2 Configuration software
All the keyboard parameters can be configured with a PC, using the three programmes recorded on the CD
that comes with the product.
Once they have been installed, they can be started with a double-click on the corresponding icon.
Keyboard Setup: software for configuring the keyboard.
Keyboard Language: software for customising/adding a language to those that are already
available.
Keyboard Maps: software for configuring the GRAPHICS environment of the keyboard.
7.3 Installing the configuration software
7.3.1 Requirements
The PC should have a free serial port for connecting the cable provided with the serial port of the keyboard.
The software package has been tested with the following Operating Systems: Windows 9x, 2000
and XP.
If small problems arise (e.g. non-aligned text, icons too small or so big that they interfere with the
normal display of the graphics window), we suggest setting the system as follows:
• Number of colours on monitor: minimum 256 (the parameter can be edited in the Properties-
Display/Settings/Colours menu of Windows).
• Font size: normal, 100% (the parameter can be edited in the Properties-
Display/Settings/Advanced menu of Windows).
