8.1.3 User settings for Zone Selective Interlock
A ZSI zone is made of one or more MSGF zones, and main, tie, and feeder circuit breakers. A ZSI
zone can be either a ZSI-Short Time zone or ZSI-Ground Fault zone.
ZSI-Short Time zone
• Members limited to main, tie, and feeder circuit breakers.
• All main and tie circuit breakers should be assigned a tier number of 0 for Topology 0.
ZSI-Ground Fault zone
• Members can be MSGF zones, and main, tie, and feeder circuit breakers.
• All MSGF zones, and main and tie circuit breakers should be assigned a tier number of 0 for
Topology 0 (see Figure 8-5).
