2.3 Entering the IP Parameters
via HiDiscovery
The HiDiscovery protocol enables you to assign IP parameters to the device
via the Ethernet.
You can easily configure other parameters via the Web-based interface (see
the "Web-based Interface" reference manual).
Install the HiDiscovery software on your PC. The software is on the CD
supplied with the device.
To install it, you start the installation program on the CD.
Note: The installation of HiDiscovery involves installing the WinPcap Version
3.1 software package.
If an earlier version of WinPcap is already installed on the PC, then follow the
suggestion to uninstall it in the setup.
A newer version remains intact when you install HiDiscovery. However, this
cannot be guaranteed for all future versions of WinPcap. In the event that the
installation of HiDiscovery has overwritten a newer version of WinPcap, you
uninstall WinPcap 3.1 and then re-install the new version.
Start the HiDiscovery program.
