media-type

This command sets the media‐type appropriate to the cable type that the interface is connected to.

Syntax

media-type {RS232 | RS422 | RS449 | RS530A | V35 | X21}

Mode

Interface configuration:

 

XSR(config-if<xx>)#

RS232

Example

XSR(config-if<S1/0>)#media-type V35

nrzi-encoding

This command sets the encoding type to NRZI. It is valid and takes effect only when the interface 
is running in Synchronous mode. Some computers require the encoding type to be set to NRZI.

Syntax

nrzi-encoding

Syntax of the “no” Form

The no form of this command disable NRZI encoding:

no nrzi-encoding

Note: The XSR Serial NIM does not detect the media-type of an attached cable. You must configure
the correct interface media-type matching the attached cable for the serial interface to function
properly.
