Step 6.

Select the Apply or Apply/Close header button to begin the Copy
task.

Note:

You may also rewind or unload a tape by selecting the

appropriate option from the header auxiliary menu.

Copy Unlabeled Tapes task

through command line

To copy files from unlabeled tape to system disk, enter the following
command:

COPY {TAPE

COPY command parameters and descriptions

Parameter

Description

TAPE

The file being input is from a open-reel tape.

CARTRIDGE

The file is being input from an 1/2 inch cartridge tape.

TD

n

The file is being input from the specified tape device.

EBCDIC ASCII

The recording format of the tape being input. If you do not
specify either EBCDIC or ASCII, EBCDIC is assumed.

disk-id

Tells which disk (DP0:, DP1:, DP2:, or DP3:) to which the
file is to be written. Keying in this parameter is not
necessary unless you want the file to reside on a specific
system disk.

file-id

Gives the name of the file to be written to a system disk,
using the following form:

file-name.file-type.
