Possibility of connection to the telephone network
Connection of the central unit is possible in 4 ways:
PSTN
GSM
UMTS
PSTN
L8 works regardless of polarity and the parameters of the line in the broad band (see
Technical Parameters). Connect it with the enclosed cable with RJ-12 terminal. It is
the most reliable and simplest connection. The disadvantage is the operating costs
(fixed fee).
Demands on telephone line:
The line must not be a dual one or a party one
The telephone socket and the wiring to it are usually the property of the relevant
network’s owner, and they must not be tampered with
Other recommendations:
The installation of must be reported to the operator and a confirmation of L8
certification submitted upon demand
Your connected wiring must comply with the relevant safety regulations
It is appropriate to secure the wiring against pirate connection (for example with
a telephone lock)
Connection via PBX (private branch exchange):
This is the cheapest connection where a PBX is already installed and where a
free line (branch) PBX is available.
Demands for PBX line:
The used PBX must be functional even during a power cut. For larger PBX there is
commonly a backup source, and for smaller ones a certain exchange is usually
connected directly to the PSTN when there is a power failure. Discuss this case
Safety
The bus is electrically separated from the circuits of the telephone line
according to the requirements of EN60950 and has only low voltage which
cannot cause an electric shock injury.
Caution
Only one CU may be connected to one telephone line, and no other end
telephone equipment may be connected to it.
Neither is it possible to use a product which the telephone line goes
through, so-called priority connection (for example electronic burglar
alarm).
It is not possible to use a so-called extension or party line.
It is not possible to use telephone “adaptors” not even smart ones.
In no case connect the product to an ISDN line
