portCfgGport

Designates a port as a G_Port; removes G_Port designation.

Synopsis

portcfggport [slot/]port,mode

Description

Use this command to designate a port as a G_Port. After successful execution of this command,
the switch attempts to initialize the specified port as an F_Port only, and does not attempt loop
initialization (FL_Port) on the port. A port designated as a G_Port can become an E_Port. This
configuration can be cleared but not set on VE/VEX_Ports. Changes made by this command are
persistent across switch reboots or power cycles.

Note

The execution of this command is subject to Virtual Fabric or Admin Domain restrictions that may
be in place. Refer to chapter 1, "Using Fabric OS commands" and Appendix A, "Command
Availability"
for details.

Operands

This command has the following operands:

slot

For bladed systems only, specify the slot number of the port to be configured,
followed by a slash (/).

port

Specify the port to be configured, relative to its slot for bladed systems. Use
switchShow to display a list of valid ports.

mode

Specify a value of 1 to designate the port as a G_Port or specify a value of 0
to remove the G_Port designation from the port. A value of 0 is the default
port state. Mode must be preceded by a comma. This operand is required.

Examples

To configure port as a locked G_Port:

switch:admin>

portcfggport 1/3, 1
