MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING

1.

Locate ends of chain on sprocket.

2.

Install pin connector (A) into chain, preferably from the
sprocket backside.

3.

Install connector (B) onto pins.

4.

Install spring clip (C) onto front pin (D) with closed end
of clip in direction of sprocket rotation.

5.

Locate one leg of clip in groove of aft pin (E).

6.

Press other leg of spring clip over face of aft pin (E)
until it slips into groove. Do NOT press clip lengthwise
from closed end.

7.

Ensure clip is seated in grooves of pins.

Installing a Sealed Bearing

To install a sealed bearing, follow these steps.

1.

Clean shaft and coat with rust preventative.

2.

Install flangette (A), bearing (B), second flangette (C),
and lock collar (D).

NOTE:
The locking cam is only on one side of the bearing.

3.

Install (but do NOT tighten) flangette bolts (E).

4.

When the shaft is correctly located, lock the lock collar
with a punch. The collar should be locked in the same
direction the shaft rotates.

Tighten the setscrew in

the collar.

5.

Tighten flangette bolts.

6.

Loosen flangette bolts on mating bearing one turn and
retighten. This will allow the bearing to line up.
