Update 3S-3000 Center Drive
For the center section to be under independent clutch
control, the existing solid drive shaft is replaced by two
smaller shafts, coupled at the new clutch.
Remove 3S-3000 Center Components
Refer to Figure 51
38. Remove and save the acremeter at the left end of
the center shaft . Remove this instrument before
driving out any pins.
39. Loosen Drive Type idler and lift chain (not shown)
off shaft output sprocket . Do not completely
remove chain.
40. Drive roll pin out of the left end of the shaft .
41. Remove and save one:
808-259C SPKT 40B14 X 7/8 HEX BORE
42. To the left of bearing , drive roll pin out of shaft
. Remove the shaft from the drill.
CAUTION !
Washer moves, under spring tension, about
1 ⁄
2
in (13mm)
to the left as the next pin is removed.
43. To the left of washer , drive roll pin out of shaft
. Removal of the last pin is optional.
44. Remove from the shaft and save one each:
195-109D BRKAWAY CLUTCH 7/8 HX LONG BR
807-097C SPRING COMP 2 1/16 OD X 4 LG
176-066D CLUTCH SPRING RETAINER
804-061C
WASHER MACH 1.50 X 1.00 X 18GA
the removed shaft :
195-188D POWER SHAFT 7/8 HEX CENTER
is not re-used.
