Replace 3S-3000 RH Drive Shafts
Remove 3S-3000 RH Chains and Input Sprocket
Refer to Figure 59
79. At the Drive Type bracket, loosen idler and lift
Drive Type drive chain off clutch output sprocket
. Do not completely remove the chain.
80. Loosen ground drive idler (not shown) and lift ground
drive chain (not shown) off sprocket . Do not com-
pletely remove the chain.
81. Drive right end roll pin out of input shaft . Pin is
not re-used.
82. Remove and save the sprocket .
CAUTION !
The pin removed in the next step is under lateral spring tension
from the clutch assembly. Parts of the clutch assembly will
jump to the right about
1 ⁄
2
in (13mm) as the pin or punch is
withdrawn.
83. Drive out mid pin . It is not re-used.
Remove 3S-3000 RH Input Shaft and Clutch
84. Move the shaft to the left. Remove the:
176-042S JAW CLUTCH CW EXT 7/8 HEX
from the shafts and .
85. Remove the shaft from in the drill. It is not re-
used.
Remove 3S-3000 RH U-Joint Shaft
Refer to Figure 60
86. At the left end of driven shaft , drive out roll pin .
The pin is not re-used.
87. Slide the right end of the U-joint off the shaft .
88. As needed, drive the mid pin from shaft .
Remove shaft @ from the drill. The shaft and pin are
not re-used.
Install 3S-3000 Solid Shaft
89. Select one new:
195-232D SHAFT 7/8 HEX, POINT ROW-RH
Note that the shaft has 3 pin holes. Only end holes
are used on 3S-3000, but there is a left and right
end. At the left end of the shaft, the hole is 1/2in
(12.7mm) from the end of the shaft. At the right end,
the hole is 3/8in (9.5mm) from shaft end.
Insert the right end of the shaft through the left
bearing and about 6in (15cm) through the mid
bearing . Insert no pins at this time.
