Update 3S-3000F/SGS Center Drive
For the center section to be under independent clutch
control, the existing solid drive shaft is replace by two
smaller shafts, coupled at the new clutch.
Note: Because a single kit updates 3S-3000 drills with
and without option boxes, parts for one bearing are
unused on drills with fertilizer and/or small seeds.
Remove 3S-3000F/SGS Center Components
Refer to Figure 77
41. Remove and save the acremeter at the left end of
the center shaft . Remove this instrument before
driving out any pins.
42. Loosen Drive Type idler and lift chain (not shown)
off left end shaft output sprocket . Loosen option
box jackshaft idler and lift chain off mid-shaft
output sprocket . Do not completely remove
chains.
43. Drive roll pin out of the left end of the shaft .
44. Remove and save the left end sprocket:
808-259C SPKT 40B14 X 7/8 HEX BORE
45. To the left of bearing , drive roll pin out of shaft
. Remove the shaft to drill right. As it pass the
option box jackshaft bracket, remove another:
808-259C SPKT 40B14 X 7/8 HEX BORE
This second sprocket is not re-used.
46. Remove the shaft from the drill for further disas-
sembly.
CAUTION !
Washer moves, under spring tension, about
1 ⁄
2
in (13mm)
to the left as the next pin is removed.
47. To the left of washer , drive roll pin out of shaft
. Removal of the last pin is optional.
48. Remove from the shaft and save one each:

807-097C SPRING COMP 2 1/16 OD X 4 LG
176-066D CLUTCH SPRING RETAINER
804-061C
WASHER MACH 1.50 X 1.00 X 18GA
The removed shaft:
195-188D POWER SHAFT 7/8 HEX CENTER
is not re-used.
