2.5.5.4

Autoprint everything that comes in on a DID

Create a group and add a user to it. On the group’s Routing tab, enter the DID to
be printed to the Identifier field.

Note that the user added to the group still gets its own copy of the fax, and
should be routed off of the fax server to either an email address or to a
Microsoft Fax client.

Outbound Faxes

2.6.1

Errors and Retries

When NET SatisFAXtion tries to send a fax and gets an error one of two things
happen. Either the error is retryable and the fax moves to the Scheduled Queue
to wait to retry, or the error is non-retryable and gets sent back to the sender.

Retryable errors are those errors that are generally intermittent and another
attempt at faxing may go through. For example, “busy” and “no answer” errors
are retryable.

Non-retryable errors are permanent failures where trying the fax again is not
going to succeed either and it is not an efficient use of phone or processing
time attempting the fax again. For example, “no dial tone” and “number not in
service” errors are not retryable.

The Microsoft Fax client manages its own retries. None of the server-side retry
settings apply to faxes sent by Microsoft Fax.

2.6.1.1

Number of Retries

By default, the fax server will retry a fax three times (four attempts total). This
can be configured in the Change Server Settings utility, Start ► Programs ►
NET SatisFAXtion ►

Change Server Settings. Click the Fax Hardware

Settings button and change to the General tab.
