2.9.1.2

Mail Server Requirements

The mail server must support POP3 and SMTP. SSL is not supported by the
POP3 gateway.

2.9.1.3

Mailbox Requirements

The POP3 Gateway requires a dedicated mailbox. The mailbox cannot be used
by any other user, since the gateway will download and process all mail in the
mailbox and send them as faxes. Never route inbound faxes to this mailbox
since it will create a mail loop.

2.9.1.4

Installing the POP3 Gateway

2.9.1.4.1

Create a POP3 Mailbox

Contact your ISP or mail hosting service, or use the interface they have provided
to you to create a POP3 mailbox for the fax server. The ISP or mail hosting
service will provide you with the domain name of their POP3 server and their
SMTP server (they can be the same or different); make a note of them since you
will need them later. If the POP3 server uses a port other than 110 or the SMTP
server uses a port other than 25, note that too since these are nonstandard and
will require special configuration.

2.9.1.4.2

Install the POP3 Gateway

The installer for the POP3 Gateway can be found on the Launchpad web site. Go
to Start ► Programs ► NET SatisFAXtion ► Launchpad. This will open the
Launchpad in the default web browser. Navigate to Admin Tools ► E-Mail
Gateways ► POP3 / SMTP Gateway.
There you will find a Download POP3
Gateway
link.

Click the Download POP3 Gateway link.
