● Misfeed in paper feed section of multi-bypass
If "PAPER MISFEED. OPEN FRONT COVER." and the misfeed location indicator
shown in the illustration appear, a misfeed has occurred in the paper feed section
of the multi-bypass.

WHEN PAPER MISFEEDS
1. Open the front cover.
2. Open the left 1 cover.
3. Pull the paper transfer section release lever (green) toward you, and open the
paper transfer section cover.
Caution: The drum (green) is highly sensitive to light and dirt. Be careful not to
expose it to strong light such as room lighting or to touch the drum with hands.
4. Turn the paper feed knob (green) in the direction of the arrow in the illustration.
The misfed paper will be fed out in a location in the paper transfer section that
makes it easier to remove.
5. Remove the misfed paper without tearing it.
* If the paper does tear, remove any scraps of torn paper from inside the copier.
CAUTION
The copier's fixing unit is extremely hot. Take sufficient care when
working in this area, as there is a danger of getting burned.
