NQA

Network Quality Analyzer (NQA) allows you to measure the quality of links and network services
through performance parameters, such as delay, jitter, time for establishing a TCP or FTP connection,

and FTP file transmission rate.

As shown in

, the source device (NQA client) initiates an NQA operation by sending probe

packets to the destination device. The destination device responds to the NQA client by sending replies.

The NQA client then calculates the operation result.
SHM provides access to the following NQA modules:

NQA Config—Provides resources for creating NQA instances, such as NQA types and NQA
levels.

NQA Instance—Enables you to create and deploy NQA instances for link monitoring by selecting
NQA devices and configuring monitor information.

NQA topology—Displays the NQA devices and instances in topology, and provides basic NQA
instance management function.

SHM periodically collects the NQA instance statistics for network performance analysis.

Network inspection

Network inspection provides a convenient method for you to examine status and basic configurations
on a large number of devices.
