LCD_A Controller
19.1 LCD_A Controller Introduction
The LCD_A controller directly drives LCD displays by creating the ac segment
and common voltage signals automatically. The MSP430 LCD controller can
support static, 2-mux, 3-mux, and 4-mux LCDs.
The LCD controller features are:

Automatic signal generation

Configurable frame frequency

Blinking capability

Regulated charge pump

Contrast control by software

Support for 4 types of LCDs:

Static

2-mux, 1/2 bias or 1/3 bias
J
3-mux, 1/2 bias or 1/3 bias
J
4-mux, 1/2 bias or 1/3 bias
The LCD controller block diagram is shown in Figure 19−1.

The maximum number of segment lines available differs with device. See the
device-specific datasheet for available segment pins.
