Testing

2.1 Introduction

Read the warning and cautions below before beginning tests.

WARNING

Circuit patterns of the printed circuit board are exposed. Be careful when
handling so that hands or fingers are not injured by the protruding pins.

CAUTION

• Circuit patterns of the printed circuit board are exposed. If other metalic

materials touch these patterns, electrical shorting will occur, causing the circuit
to be damaged or burnt.

• It is sometimes necessary to turn the MX100/MX110/MX115/MX125/

MX150/772061/772063 upside down for adjustment. Do not drop the instrument,
or allow it to fall over.

Test Environment

• Ambient temperature: 23 ± 5°C
• Relative humidity: 55 ± 20% (or 55 ±10% during MX100 tests)
• Atmospheric pressure: 86kPa–106kPa
• Power supply voltage: Nominal voltage ±1%
• Power supply frequency measurement: Nominal frequency ±1%
• Power supply waveform: Distortion factor of 5% or less
• DC power supply ripple: Content ratio of 0.1% or less
• Supply voltage source, supply voltage: Nominal supply voltage ±3%
• Supply voltage source, temperature: Ambient temperature of ± 2°C
• Supply voltage source, dew point: Lower than the ambient temperature by 10°C or

more

• Supply voltage source, cleanliness level (oil, dust etc.): Less than 1 ppm of oil, with no

dust particles exceeding 3 µm in diameter

• Vibration: A value having negligible effects on the instrument
• Position: Within ±3% of the specified position
• Interference*: A value that does not affect the measured results
• Electrical field: A value that does not affect the measured results
• Magnetic field: A value that does not affect the measured results
• Atmospheric pollutants: Levels of corrosive gasses, vapors, salts, and dust that do not

affect the measured results.

• Free fall acceleration

: Acceleration during free fall as determined at a test site

• Other external effects

: A value that does not affect the measured results

* Interference refers to common mode noise, series mode noise, power supply noise, and

other phenomena in the signal line.

† If there is doubt about the exact gravity, you can use the standard value for free fall

acceleration gn=9.80665 m/s

2

(an internationally agreed upon standard).

‡ Other external effects include luminance, draft, ultrasonic waves, and radiation.
