24.5. Activating procedure
Carrying out pipettes calibration process requires installing an adapter for
pipettes calibration. The adapter does not come standard with the balance.
The adapter for pipettes calibration is a simple supplementary device dedicated
for calibration and checking of piston pipettes. It is designed for application on
balances MYA 21.3Y and XA 52.3Y.
The adapter has been designed to minimize evaporation occurring in liquid
handling procedures. It consists of a minimized weighing chamber installed
inside the weighing chamber of a balance. The adapter features an evaporation
ring and a dedicated weighing pan for central locating of the measuring vessel.
Application of the adapter for pipettes calibration prevents from liquid
evaporation during calibration process. Small dimensions of the adapter,
combined with the evaporation ring enable maintaining high humidity rate inside
