18.

ENGINE BRACKETS:

18.1. Remove both hex cap screws and hex flange

lock nuts securing the engine mounts to the trac-
tor frame using a 9/16” socket and wrench. See
Figure 18.1.

NOTE: The thick black ground wire terminal is
secured to the right front hex cap screw.

19.

SECURING THE ENGINE FROM ABOVE:

19.1. Raise the lift arms of the shop lift until they are

clear of the top of the tractor. See Figure 19.1.

19.2. Slide the lift arms in.

19.3. Place two channels across the lift arms.

19.4. Secure the engine from above using two lift

straps. See Figure 19.4.

NOTE: The muffler mounting bracket has two lift
points, one in front and one in back, to hook the
lifting straps for engine removal.

19.5. Draw the lift straps until they are taught.

20.

ENGINE REMOVAL:

20.1. Make certain the rear portion of the drive shaft is

secured from falling to the ground.

20.2. Raise the engine up and out of the tractor using

the shop lift. See Figure 20.2.

NOTE: Make certain the front portion of the drive
shaft separates from the rear portion of the drive
shaft before raising the engine all the way up.

20.3. Raise the rear of the tractor with a floor jack and

pull the tractor rearward until the engine is clear.
