24.8. Remove the thrust bearing from the rear of the

main clutch assembly using a stick magnet. See
Figure 24.8.

24.9. Place the main clutch assembly on the bench

with the hex cap screws facing up. See Figure
24.9.

24.10. Slowly and equally remove all six hex cap

screws securing the main clutch assembly
together using a 7/16” socket.

NOTE: The front plate is spring loaded.

24.11. Remove the top housing and hex cap screws.

See Figure 24.11.

24.12. Remove all six compression springs from the

clutch packs.

24.13. Remove each external toothed steel clutch disk

and each internal toothed steel clutch disk, one
at a time, inspecting them for wear or damage.
See Figure 24.13.
