6.

REAR HOUSING COVER:

6.1.

Remove all the perimeter hex cap screws secur-
ing the rear housing cover to the transmission
housing using a 9/16” socket. See Figure 6.1.

NOTE: Loctite™ the threads and torque them
between 220 and 280 In. Lbs. during assembly.

6.2.

Install four of the hex cap screws, that were just
removed, back through the housing cover and
into the transmission housing at the four center
thread bore positions until there is a 1/4” air gap
between the bottom of the head of the hex cap
screw and the rear housing cover using a 9/16”
socket. See Figure 6.2.

6.3.

Install four Factory School provided hex cap
screws into the rear housing cover until there is
a 1/4” air gap between the bottom of the head of
the hex cap screw and the rear housing cover
using a 1/2” socket.

NOTE: The Factory School provided hex cap
screws are longer for this procedure.

6.4.

Position a pry bar under the Factory School pro-
vided hex screws, and across the top of the
outer perimeter hex screws.

6.5.

Pry the rear housing cover from the transmission
housing using the outer hex cap screws as pivot
points, and the inner hex cap screws as lifting
points.

6.6.

Remove all four hex cap screws securing the
rear transmission cover to the transmission
housing using a 9/16” socket.

6.7.

Break the remaining sealant free using a
scraper.

6.8.

Remove the rear housing cover from the trans-
mission housing and 540 PTO shaft. See Figure
6.8.

NOTE: Make certain the 540 PTO shaft remains
in position.

6.9.

Remove all four of the factory school provided
hex cap screws.
