26.10.Remove the left axle shaft’s oil seal from the left
axle housing using a large pry bar. See Figure
26.10.
NOTE: Install a new oil seal using a rubber mal-
let during assembly.
26.11. Inspect all three ball bearings in the left axle
housing for wear or damage.
NOTE: If any of the ball bearings need to be
replaced, an arbor press will be required.
26.12.Inspect the left axle housing for wear or damage.
26.13.Clean the left axle housing’s mating face using a
cleaning pad and scraper.
26.14.Repeat the above procedures when inspecting
the right axle assembly. See Figure 26.14.
NOTE: The right axle stub shaft is longer than
the left axle stub shaft.
