21.9. Loosen the alternator adjustment screw securing
the lock washer, stepped spacer and alternator
in position using a 12mm socket. See Figure
21.9.
NOTE: Adjust the fan belt to the proper specifi-
cations during assembly.
21.10. Loosen the alternator pivot screw securing the
alternator in position using a 14mm socket.
21.11. Remove both hex screws securing the alternator
support bracket to the engine block using a
12mm socket. See Figure 21.11.
21.12. Secure the alternator.
21.13. Remove the alternator adjustment screw from
the alternator.
21.14. Remove the alternator.

21.15. Loosen the hose clamp securing the upper radi-
ator hose to the water pump inlet using a 5/16”
socket. See Figure 21.15.
21.16. Remove the upper radiator hose.
21.17. Remove all six remaining hex cap screws secur-
ing the left engine bracket to the engine block
using a 13mm socket and wrench. See Figure
21.17.
NOTE: Loctite™ the hex cap screws during
assembly.
