7264 Four Wheel Drive Axle Assembly Removal and Disassembly

1.

TIRE REMOVAL:

1.1.

Loosen all five lug bolts securing the left and
right tire assemblies to the wheel hubs using a
19mm socket. See Figure 1.1.

1.2.

Place a floor jack under the center of the 4wh
axle assembly and raise the front of the tractor
up until the tires clear the ground several inches.
See Figure 1.2.

1.3.

Place two large jack stands under the front por-
tion of the frame.

1.4.

Raise the large jack stands up, equally, until
they contact the front portion of the frame.

1.5.

Slowly lower the floor jack until the front portion
of the frame is resting on the large jack stands.

1.6.

Remove the floor jack.

1.7.

Raise the shop lift arms above the tractor hood.
See Figure 1.7.

1.8.

Slide the shop lift arms in.

1.9.

Place one of the shop lift’s steel channels across
the top of the shop lift arms.

1.10. Raise the shop lift to its highest level and lock it

in position.

1.11. Secure the front portion of the frame to the steel

channel using lifting straps.

NOTE: This is a procedure that is used for safety
during Factory Schools.
