26.6. Remove the left axle housing assembly from the
left axle shaft and place it into a suitable oil drain
container. See Figure 26.6.
NOTE: Lubricate the left axle shaft’s oil seal
prior to installing the left axle shaft during
assembly.
26.7. Inspect the left axle shaft for wear or damage.
See Figure 26.7.

26.8. Remove the left axle stub shaft’s oil seal from
the left axle housing using a large flat-blade
screwdriver. See Figure 26.8.
NOTE: Install a new oil seal using a rubber mal-
let during assembly
26.9. Remove all three hex cap screws securing the
left chain bracket to the left axle housing using a
9/16” socket. See Figure 26.9.
NOTE: Loctite™ the threads during assembly.
