6.21. Remove all four hex bolts securing the steering

arm to the final drive housing using a 14mm
socket. See Figure 6.21.

6.22. Remove the steering arm. See Figure 6.22.

6.23. Remove the shim(s) from the ball bearing bore

of the steering arm and the top of the ball bear-
ing.

NOTE: Keep track of the location of any shims
removed. They should be reinstalled in their
original positions.

NOTE: The ball bearing seats into the bore in
the steering arm. There is a seal on one side of
the bearing. The seal faces the final drive hous-
ing (down) when installed correctly.

6.24. Remove the pinion gear housing assembly from

the final drive housing assembly using a brass
drift and large hammer. See Figure 6.24.

6.25. Rotate the final drive housing until the lower

drive pinion and ball bearing are at the top of the
final drive. See Figure 6.25.

6.26. Remove the lower final drive pinion gear and ball

bearing from the final drive housing by lightly
tapping on the outside of the final drive housing.
