Pattern selector dial

It selects the stitch type. It has 9 positions, from "A" to "I".

The letter "A" indicates buttonhole function. Each of the

other letters has two types of stitches. A decorative stitch
and a flexible stitch (illustration 1).

The stitch performed by the machine will depend on the

positions of the patttern selector dial together with the
stitch length dial (illustration 2).

When the stitch length dial is set between positions 0 and

5, the machine will perform decorative stitching as

indicated by the letter of the stitch selector. When the

stitch length dial is at the "I” mark, the machine will

perform the Flexible Stitch as indicated by the letter of

the stitch selector (illustration 2).

Check machine panel or the pattern table to learn the

correspondent stitch-letters.

Stitch balance selector

This selector (illustration 3) adjusts the flexible stitches.

Flexible stitches use the movement of the zigzag toge

ther with forward and reverse movement. These stitches

are quite useful, however they require adjustments,

made with the help of this selector. Learn more about this

function in the "Flexible Stitch Patterns" section (page

60). This selector also balances the left side of but

tonhole. The reverse push button dial balances the right

side.
