Balancing the

buttonhole

Some types of fabrics will show different density of

stitches on the right or the left side of the buttonhole.

This is easily adjusted by following the instructions

below:

1. If the stitches on the left side of the buttonhole are too

open, move the stitch and buttonhole balance selector

a little to the right to make the stitches more compact.
If they are too compact move the selector a little to the

left, until the density of stitches decreases (illustra­

tion 1).

2. If the stitches on the right side of the buttonhole are to

open, turn the reverse push button and buttonhole

balance selector slightly to the right to make more

compact stitches. If they are too compact, turn the

selector slightly to the left until the density of stitches

decreases (illustration 2).
