One-step

buttonhole

Your machine makes buttonholes to any length you choose in
only one easy step. Follow these instructions before making
buttonholes:

• You do not need to move the fabric or reposition the needle.

• Always make a practice buttonhole on a sample fabric. Use

this sample to help balance the buttonhole (page 68 ).

• Make sure bobbin contains enough thread.

• Mark buttonhole position on fabric (illustration 1).

Turn pattern selector dial to position "A" and the stitch

length dial to buttonhole position.

RECOMMENDED INITIAL SETTINGS

Pattern: Position "A"
Needle position: Central
Stitch width: Position it between smaller and bigger button

hole mark.

Foot: Buttonhole presserfoot

1. Place the button you will use into the restraining compart

ment of the foot (illustration 2). It will determine the length

of the buttonhole. Attach the buttonhole presser foot to the
shank.
