 Custom
Allows you to set the Brightness, Contrast, Shadow, Highlight and Gamma manually.
NOTE
• Shadow cannot be set to a larger value than Highlight.
• This function is available when the Auto, True Gray, or 24bit Color scan type is selected.
• This function is not effective for the Long Paper document size.
4 Auto Color Detect Adjust
When scan type Auto is selected, you can adjust the detection level of color, B&W and grayscale.
 B&W/Gray - Color
Increasing the slider value will make the machine more likely to determine that a given document is a
color document when detecting whether the document uses color. Decreasing the value will make the
machine more likely to determine that a given document is a black and white or grayscale document.
 B&W - Gray
Increasing the slider value will make the machine more likely to determine that a given document is a
grayscale document when detecting whether the document uses color. Decreasing the value will make
the machine more likely to determine that a given document is black and white.
5 Background Processing
 Remove Bleed-through / Pattern
Enabling this function prevents the bleedthrough phenomenon on a two-sided document.
 Remove Background Color
If you enable the Remove Background Color setting, this machine remove the base color of
documents such as newspapers to make the scanned data more recognizable.
