Preparation: Creation of the suitable configuration of the drive

 ECSxM axis module

– No special treatment:

Insert a "Drive" in the control configuration of the »PLC Designer« below the

"Axis_Group_CAN".

 Servo Drive 9400 CiA402

– Control via CAN:

Insert a "Drive_9400_TP" in the control configuration of the »PLC Designer« below

the "Axis_Group_CAN".

– Control via EtherCAT:

Select a corresponding mapping in the »EtherCAT Configurator« which contains the

touch probe data as process date.

Restricted functional range for the control via CAN
Due to the limited bandwidth of the CAN bus, only the following operating modes of the

L_SMC_Touchprobe function block are supported:

 TouchProbeSelect (TP1 or TP2 selection): Only "TP1" permissible.
 TouchProbeMode (selection of the operating mode): Only "Single measurement"

permissible.

 TouchProbeSignal (selection of the zero pulse or digital input): No restriction
 TouchProbeEdge (configuration of the edge evaluation): Only "Triggering with positive

edge" permissible.

Note!

If an ECSxM axis module is used, the measured values are transmitted via the so-

called "monitor data" of the PDOs (See "Monitor data" section in the

documentation for the ECSxM axis module).
The selection of the monitor data via code C3181 is set to the value "7" once

during run-up of the control system (nPosLatchDiff).
