Convert Splines/Ellipses to Lines

Splines and ellipses need a lot of computing time for interpolation. In order to reduce this

time, this menu item can be used to convert all splines and ellipses in the CNC program into

an approximately equivalent number of lines. This means that splines and ellipses can be

used in the design of the path but do not have to be computed during runtime.
The command opens a dialog providing two conversion options:

Length dependent, i.e. one line will be created for every x length units (number x can

be inserted in the dialog) of the spline/ellipse, or

Angle dependent, i.e. the original object will be partitioned in such a way that the

resulting lines will include angles less than x (angle x [degrees] can be inserted in the

dialog).

Tip!
If the default settings are retained, when the lines are interpolated, there will be

a deceleration to zero velocity after each new line segment (this is not the case

when splines/ellipses are interpolated). You can avoid this by increasing the

angular tolerance accordingly.

If this option is activated, clicking with the mouse within the editor pane will

insert a G03 circle element for counter-clockwise motion. The new element will

be inserted behind the currently selected (red) element. The mouse position

defines the destination (end point). The radius of the circle is set to 100 by

default; if necessary, this can be modified in the text editor.

If this option is activated, clicking with the mouse within the editor pane will

insert a spline behind the currently selected (red) element. The mouse position

defines the destination (end point).

If this option is activated, the visible part of the window will show the complete

CNC program.

This command automatically renumbers the program consecutively, assigning

new line numbers (N<Number>) in decimal increments.
