ADS FlowShark IS Manual

Installing the Wireless EMU

Installing the wireless EMU primarily involves wiring the

communication cable to the Communication Interface/Barrier box

and mounting the EMU in the customer-supplied, non-metallic

protective enclosure at the designated location.

Note:

Because these enclosures vary in design and

construction, ADS does not designate a specific step or

procedure for installing the customer-supplied enclosure in

which to house the EMU. ADS recommends installing the

enclosure at the EMU location based on the manufacturer’s

instructions and at the point in the process that is most

appropriate for the location and application.

EMU Components

The wireless EMU (ADS p/n 3800-0148) used with the FlowShark

IS houses the following major components:

Communication Interface/Barrier PCB (ADS p/n

106124D/106251B)

Modem Reset PCB (ADS p/n 3800-0143)

Quad-Band TCP/IP Wireless Modem (ADS p/n 507959)

Mini-Wing Antenna (ADS p/n 507381)

FlowShark External Battery (ADS p/n 5000-0557)

ADS ships the wireless EMU pre-assembled; however, the battery is

not installed. Perform all EMU installation steps prior to inserting

the battery (or connecting to the external power source, when

applicable) to avoid damage to the Modem reset PCB.
The unit is ready for wireless communication once connected to a

FlowShark IS monitor via a communication cable (ADS p/n

106227), powered by a battery (or external power), and fitted with a

SIM card.
