Checking the Monitor Battery Voltage

Check the battery voltage using Profile before installing the

monitor and after collecting data. The projected life for the 9-volt

battery pack (when applicable) in the monitor is 9 to 12 months at a

15-minute sample rate; the projected life for the 12-volt battery

pack (when applicable) in the monitor is 11-15 months at a 15-

minute sample rate. However, replace the battery pack in a monitor

with the 9-volt or the 12-volt battery pack as soon as possible when

the internal voltage is 6.5 volts or less, or Profile provides a Low

battery status.

Warning:

An external voltage reading below 8.0 volts or

an internal voltage of less than 6.5 volts may prevent

communication with and data collection from the monitor.

Check the current battery voltage in the monitor using the
Diagnostics

tool in Profile in the following way:

1. From the Profile software main screen, select the monitor and

then select the Diagnostics toolbar button (or select Tools >
Diagnostics
from the main menu

).

Diagnostics toolbar button

The Diagnostics dialog displays.

2. Select the Connect button on the Diagnostics dialog to

establish communication with the monitor.

Profile establishes communication, and the Monitor Status
displays on a Print Preview screen for the selected monitor.

3. Review the Monitor Status. Replace the internal battery when

the Internal Voltage is Low.

The Print Preview dialog displays the current system
information, including the monitor battery voltage, in printable
format. Select the Print button to print the report contents, if
desired.
