10. (applies only to battery-powered EMUs) Re-install the battery
pack in the EMU in the following way:
Install the battery pack into the battery compartment with
the cable facing out the left side of the compartment.
Connect the battery cable to the EMU power cable.
Note:
ADS offers EMUs that are equipped to run on
either battery power or external power directly from the
factory. However, an External Power Kit (ADS p/n 3800-
0181) is available through ADS for converting an existing
battery-powered EMU to receive power from an external
DC source. This kit includes detailed instructions for the
conversion.
11. (applies only to externally-powered EMUs) Attach the metal
connector from the 10-foot external power cable to the chassis
cable connector on the top of the EMU.
12. Replace the cover on the EMU, and securely tighten the four
plastic screws. Be sure the edges of the cover align with the
edge of the box and that no wires are trapped in the gasket.
