Daktronics Show Control System
Troubleshooting
Likely Reason:
The Show Control Server is not on; likely due to network issues.
Potential solution: Verify that the Show Control Server is running. Ensure that both the Show Control
Client and Server have a network connection and can ping each other.
Message:
Unknown Error Contacting the Server. Make sure “Daktronics Nucleus Server”
is running on the Server Machine.
Likely Reason:
The Nucleus Server service is not running on the Show Control Server.
Potential solution: Manually start the Nucleus Server service on the Show Control Server and ensure
that it is set to start automatically.
Message:
Error Authenticating Client Credentials. Make sure that the Client and Server
are set to the same time (GMT).
Likely Reason:
The clocks on the Show Control Client and Show Control Server are not
synchronized. The clocks must be set for the same time, to within five minutes.
Potential solution: Synchronize the clocks on the two machines.
Message:
Error contacting the Show Control database. Make sure the SQL Server
(Nucleus) is running on the Server machine.
Likely Reason:
The SQL Server (NUCLEUS) service is not running on the Show Control Server.
Potential solution: Manually start the SQL Server (NUCLEUS) service on the Show Control Server and
ensure that it is set to start automatically.
ERTD errors
Message:
The following signs share Id=<ERTD ID> : <Sign 1>, <Sign 2>, …
Likely Reason:
Multiple signs are configured with the same ERTD sign number.
Potential solution: If this is the desired configuration, click Ignore. Otherwise, edit the ERTD number of
the signs so that they all have unique sign numbers.
Message:
The following signs have an ERTD Id=0 : <Sign 1>, <Sign 2>, …
Likely Reason:
There are one or more signs with an ERTD number of 0.
Potential solution: If this is the desired configuration, click Ignore. Otherwise, edit the ERTD number of
the signs so they are unique and not 0.
File Server
Message:
No file servers detected. Please check the player configuration.
Likely Reason:
The DMP-7000 File Server(s) are not configured with their full UNC path(es).
Potential solution: Add the DMP-7000 file server(s) to the Venus 7000 Shell System Configuration.
Ensure that the full UNC path is entered (\\[Computer Name]\V7000)
