14.1 Updating software
14.1.1 Preparation
Download the latest version of the software package from the Grass Valley website. Software
package files are always named according to the following convention:
• Copy the downloaded package file to the root directory of a USB stick. Make sure that the
USB stick has at least 128 MB of storage left.
• Connect the camcorder to an external power supply. Do not use a battery to power the
camcorder because the update process can take a long time to complete (up to two
hours).
• Remove all media from the camcorder and unplug all external devices. Lens, viewfinder
and microphone may stay connected to the camcorder.
