Measurements

When the connection is made between the SpO

2

sensor and the unit, the message,

INITIALIZING, appears in the SpO

2

display. After a brief delay, the unit displays the SpO

2

measurement. If the message, SENSOR FAILURE, appears, the sensor is either incompatible
with the Propaq M unit, or it is not working, and you will need to replace the sensor.

A blip bar appears on the right side of the SpO

2

numeric display window. The blip bar indicates

the relative pulsatile strength and quality of the SpO

2

data.

Enabling/Disabling SpO

2

Alarms and Setting Alarm Limits

When enabled, the Propaq M unit sounds alarms whenever measurements are outside set limits
for the High and Low SpO

2

values.

You can enable (or disable) SpO

2

alarms and set Upper and Lower alarm limits through the

Alarms quick access key (

) or through the SpO

2

Parameter Control Panel.

To configure SpO

2

alarms through the Alarms quick access key:

1. Press the More quick access key (

).

Press .

Press the Limits quick access key (

).

4.

Use the navigation buttons to highlight and select the appropriate alarm menu selection. For
NIBP, the alarm menu selection is SpO

2

Alarm. On the selected SpO

2

Alarm Settings menu,

use the navigation keys to select the fields that you want to change. The fields are

Lower Limit Enable

Upper Limit

Lower Limit

When you are finished changing values on the alarm menu, navigate to the Backarrow key
to exit the menu.
