Setting Upper and Lower EtCO

Limits

Initially, the EtCO2 Alarm menu specifies that the EtCO

2

alarms are enabled (

ON

) or disabled

(

OFF

), and displays the default Upper and Lower EtCO

2

Limits. The upper and lower limits can

be

ON

or

OFF

(default is

OFF

). The following table lists the default EtCO

2

limits for adult,

pediatric, and neonate patients, and gives the range in which you can set these limits:

Caution

In high-altitude environments, EtCO

2

values may be lower than values observed at sea level, as

described by Dalton’s law of partial pressures. When using the Propaq M unit in high-altitude
environments, it is advisable to adjust EtCO

2

alarm settings accordingly.

Setting Upper FiCO

Limits

Initially, the FiCO2 Alarm menu specifies that the FiCO

2

alarms are enabled (

ON

) or disabled

(

OFF

), and displays the default upper limit. The upper limit can be

ON

or

OFF

(default is

OFF

).

patients, and gives the range in which you can set these limits:
