4 Setting Up the Remote Console
This chapter describes how to set up a remote console to communicate with the HP
Remote Assistant accessory in your server. Installing the server software is the first
part of the installation process, which also includes the following:
•
Setting up terminal emulation
•
Connecting to an HP Remote Assistant from an HP NetServer Assistant
Management Console (optional)
Once you've set up your remote management console, you can begin managing your
server as described in Chapter 5.
NOTE If you have earlier versions of HP Remote Assistant software installed, it's
safe to overwrite them with the new versions. Remember, when upgrading
SNMP agent software, be sure to upgrade both the management console and
each server with an HP Remote Assistant board.
