5 Using HPRA to Manage Server Operations

111

NOTE

Passwords are displayed as eight asterisks and so are not visible on-screen.

The menu provides three commands for modifying administrator data: (C)hange,
(D)elete, and (T)oggle Pager. When you press M to return to the HP Remote Assistant
Main Menu, a prompt appears asking if you want to save any changes you made to the
user information.

NOTE

You can also set up and modify user records by running the HP Remote
Assistant Configuration Utility on the server in which the HP Remote
Assistant board is installed. For more information on using the HP Remote
Assistant Configuration Utility, see Chapter 2.

Modifying Administrator Data

If you press C to modify an administrator configuration. HP Remote Assistant prompts
you for a user number. At the prompt, type the user number for the record you want to
modify and press Enter. (You can add a new administrator alias by overwriting the
data for an existing user, or by entering a number for an empty record.)

HP Remote Assistant proceeds to prompt you for user information, beginning with
name. This prompt (and each prompt that follows) shows the current field value so
that you can retain existing values by simply pressing Enter.

To modify the name, select the text, type a new name and press Enter. To retain the
original name, simply press Enter.

HP Remote Assistant continues prompting you for additional information. Enter the
appropriate data and press Enter. After the pager information has been accepted, you
are returned to the user number prompt.

Deleting Administrator Data

If you press D to remove an administrator record, HP Remote Assistant prompts you
for a user number. Type a user number and press Enter to remove the record from the
list.

Enabling/Disabling a Pager

If you press T to toggle the administrator's pager on or off, HP Remote Assistant
prompts you for the user number for which you want to enable or disable paging. Type
a user number and press Enter. HP Remote Assistant enables or disables the
administrator's pager for that site, depending on the current state of the toggle. An "N"
indicates an enabled Numeric pager; a "T" indicates an enabled TAP pager.
