A13: BATT. DISCONNECT

(CB, CB9, CB6, QL)

- CB, CB9, QL

Temporary alarm. The meaning and behaviour of this
alarm has changed along with the firmware versions, so
please check the version you have currently installed: a
special discussion will be given for CB products firmware
version 0.25 or higher and CB9 products firmware version
0.44 or higher.

The battery disconnection detection algorithm depends
on the charging phase. For example, during phase 1 and
2, a disconnection is detected if the measured voltage has
raised above its setpoint and the current drops to a very
low level. This may be caused by a real disconnection, or
the connection of a battery which is completely charged
or with a nominal value greater than the charger’s one.
The following table summarizes the entire detection algo-
rithm.

Table 6-11.

Phase

Conditions

Behaviour

1

Alarm detected if I=0 V ≥ setpoint

2

Alarm detected if I=0 V ≥ setpoint

3

Infinite Timeout

If I = 0, charger stops and restarts after 30 mins. If voltage falls below 1
V/cell, when charge is stopped, the alarm is detected

Finite Timeout

if I = 0, V ≥ setpoint, charger goes to phase 4

4 (IUIUo)

Infinite Timeout

If I = 0, charger stops and restarts after 30 mins. If voltage falls below 1
V/cell, when charge is stopped, the alarm is detected

4

(IUIa or

programmed)

Null Setpoints:

PWM generator is turned off. If voltage falls below 1 V/cell, alarm is
detected

Infinite Timeout:

If I = 0, charger stops and restarts after 30 mins. If voltage falls below 1
V/cell, when charge is stopped, the alarm is detected

Finite Timeout:

Alarm detected if I = 0, V ≥ setpoint

5 on

Null Setpoints

PWM generator is turned off. If voltage falls below 1 V/cell, alarm is
detected

Infinite Timeout:

If I = 0, charger stops and restarts after 30 mins. If voltage falls below 1
V/cell, when charge is stopped, the alarm is detected

Finite Timeout

Alarm detected if I = 0, V ≥ setpoint

5 off

PWM generator is turned off. If voltage falls below 1 V/cell, alarm is
detected

6

Null Setpoints

PWM generator is turned off. If voltage falls below 1 V/cell, alarm is
detected

Infinite Timeout:

If I = 0, charger stops and restarts after 30 mins. If voltage falls below 1
V/cell, when charge is stopped, the alarm is detected

Finite Timeout

Alarm detected if I = 0, V ≥ setpoint
