On Microsoft Windows, you must put a backslash (\) before and after the name in addition to other
delimiters. For example, the following name is used in a command running under a Windows
operating system:
[\"Engineering"\]

For Linux, and when used in a script file, the name appears as the following:
["Engineering"]

When you enter the World Wide Identifier (WWID) of an HBA host port, some usages require
quotation marks around the WWID. In other uses, you must put angle brackets (< >) around the
WWID. The description of the WWID parameter tells you if you must put quotation marks or angle
brackets around the WWID.

• Script commands must end with a semicolon (;). You can enter more than one script command on

the command line each time you enter a CLI command.

Firmware Compatibility Levels

The supported RAID controller firmware for SMcli commands is 7.70.xx.xx, and later.

NOTE:

Modular Disk Storage Manager (MDSM) is backward compatible. When the latest Resource DVD is used to
install MDSM, all SMcli commands will work with the supported controller firmware.
