2. Getting Started/Basic Operations

[USB Mode]

Select the USB communication system when connecting the
camera to your PC or your printer with the USB connection cable
(supplied).

[Select on connection]:

Select this setting to select the USB communication system when
connecting to another device.
z

[PC]:

Select this setting to export images to a connected PC.
{

[PictBridge(PTP)]:

Select this setting when connecting to a printer supporting
PictBridge.

[Remote Control(PTP)]:

Select this setting to control the camera from a PC, etc. or send
recorded images to it.

Do not use any cable other than the supplied USB connection cable
or a Panasonic USB connection cable (DMW-USBC1: optional).

About [Remote Control(PTP)]

To connect to a PC using [Remote Control(PTP)] to control the
camera from the PC, you need to install software on the PC.
Compatible software (As of July 2015):
USB Tether (Promote Systems)

When the camera is connected to another device with
[Remote Control(PTP)], if you break the communication between
them before you have completed sending files, for example by
turning off the camera or disconnecting the USB connection cable
(supplied), unsent files will not be resent.

It may not be possible to delete files or use the [Playback] menu
while files are being sent with [Remote Control(PTP)].

When [Remote Control(PTP)] is selected, the USB connection cable
(supplied) and an HDMI micro cable can be connected to the camera
at the same time.
