Turn Signal Select Lever (Optional) Installation

1. Install the two screws (11) securing the transmission

travel and gear selector lever (12), shims (13), and
turn signal selector lever assembly (14) to the
steering column.

2. Connect the turn signal electrical connectors to the

dash harness (10). Install the five screws (8)
securing the left dash panel (9).

Steering Column and Valve
Replacement

a. Steering Column and Valve Removal

1. Park the vehicle on a firm, level surface. Level the

vehicle, ground the attachment, place the travel
select lever in the (N) NEUTRAL DETENT position,
engage the parking brake switch and shut the
engine OFF.

2. Remove the five screws (15) securing the front

display panel (16) to the cab. Unplug the twenty pin
connector (17) from the back of the front display
panel.

3. Remove the steering wheel. (Refer to Section 4.3.2,

a. “Steering Wheel Removal.”)

4. Remove the transmission travel and gear selector

lever. (Refer to Section 4.3.2, c. “Transmission Travel
and Gear Select Lever Removal.”)

5. Working through the front display panel opening,

label, disconnect and plug the four hoses (18) at the
top of the steering valve. Cap the fittings on the
steering valve.

6. Working through the lower dash panel opening (19),

label, disconnect and plug the load sense hose (20),
on the left side of the steering valve. Cap the fittings
on the steering valve.

7. Disconnect the horn button wire (21) from the cab

wiring harness.

WARNING:

Wait for the hydraulic fluid

to cool before servicing any hydraulic component.
Hot hydraulic oil can cause severe burns.

WARNING:

Hydraulic fluid leaking under

pressure can penetrate the skin, cause infection,
gangrene, and death or serious personal
injury. If injured, see a doctor immediately.

Relieve all pressure before disconnecting any
component, part, line or hose. Slowly loosen
parts and allow release of residual pressure
before removing any parts or component.
